Job summary

Huntsville Hospital seeks a highly skilled paramedic to administer advanced life support in pre-hospital settings in Alabama. You will assess illnesses, stabilize patients, perform intubations, manage IV medications, and coordinate transport to treatment centers.

Required NRPs, Alabama EMSP license, and EVOC training. Must maintain CPR and driving responsibilities, working closely with physicians and EMS teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with NRP certificate.
• State of Alabama EMSP License as Paramedic.
• Valid driver's license and Healthcare Provider CPR certification on hire or within provisional period.
• EVOC training (must obtain and maintain)

Responsibilities

• Assesses nature and severity of illness or injury to prioritize procedures.
• Restores and stabilizes heart rhythm on pulseless, nonbreathing patients.
• Monitors cardiac patient condition.
• Initiates IV fluids to administer medications or fluids.
• Performs endotracheal intubation to open airways and ventilate patient.
• Administers injections of medications.
• Provides initial on-scene treatment and records vital signs.
• Transports patients to treatment center and coordinates with hospital staff.
• Communicates with physicians and medical personnel by radio or phone.
