Job summary

Huntsville Hospital seeks an Emergency Medical Technician to administer pre-hospital life support, assess patients, and provide initial care at the scene. The role requires Alabama EMSP EMT license, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license.

You will stay current with protocols and report patient care using approved systems. Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle readiness, coordinating with hospital personnel, and assisting in directing on-scene teams to ensure timely, quality care

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
State of Alabama EMSP License as EMT.
Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.
EVOC – must be obtained after employed/promoted.
Valid and current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish medical procedures.
Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and records vital signs.
Maintains readiness and insurable driving status for the vehicle.
Communicates with hospital/TCC personnel using approved methods.
Maintains credentials and keeps current with protocol changes.
Documents patient care in approved reporting methods.
Ensures vehicle and station safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
Assists in directing additional personnel on scene, including volunteers.
