Reed Smith LLP is seeking a Senior Paralegal to provide substantive legal and transactional support across music, entertainment, licensing, IP, and commercial matters. The role requires independent judgment, managing complex workstreams, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Join our Entertainment & Media Industry Group focusing on music industry clearance agreements, copyright matters, and high-profile transactions, supporting attorneys handling diverse deals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree and paralegal certificate required; comparable relevant experience considered.
7+ years of directly relevant paralegal experience, preferably in music transactions, entertainment law, IP, or related practice.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, revise, and support negotiation of music, entertainment, licensing, and commercial agreements.
Manage music and entertainment clearance matters, researching rights and protections.
Conduct USCO, legal, corporate research; manage copyright registrations and recordations.
Perform due diligence for music catalog acquisitions and entertainment transactions.
Analyze contract terms, track obligations, and identify issues for attorney involvement.
Prepare deal summaries and maintain tracking resources for music transactions.
Ensure compliance for artist sweepstakes and related documentation.
Communicate with attorneys, clients, artists, and industry professionals to resolve issues.
Exercise independent judgment across multiple matters and escalate as needed.
Maintain confidentiality in all client and firm matters.
