Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP seeks an experienced paralegal to support the Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation team. You will draft and revise pleadings, conduct factual and legal research, manage case files, and coordinate client communications under attorney supervision.

This role handles complex matters with deadlines, e-filing, discovery, and trial prep. Eight years of litigation experience and strong Westlaw/LexisNexis, MS Office, and iManage skills are required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules (federal, state, and local).
• Advanced knowledge of e-filing systems and electronic court filing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Draft, proofread, and revise legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements under attorney direction.
• Conduct factual and legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis, and summarize findings for attorney review.
• Perform fact and cite-checking of large briefs per Bluebook standards under tight deadlines.
• Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files with accuracy.
• Assist with all phases of discovery including document collection, review, and production.
• Prepare and file documents with federal, state, and local courts, including e-filing where applicable.
• Monitor deadlines and maintain case calendars; coordinate with attorneys to ensure timely deliveries.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties under attorney supervision.
