Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Sr Paralegal - Trial Division to handle administrative and paralegal tasks from discovery through trial preparation. You will coordinate pre-trial activities, draft motions and subpoenas, and manage cases with support from trial and regional attorneys.

The role requires four years of paralegal experience, familiarity with civil litigation, and solid MS Office and case management skills. Travel may be required, and benefits include a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in business administration, insurance or related area preferred.
• Certification in paralegal studies preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• Typically four years as a paralegal with proven performance.

Responsibilities

• Reviews office files and answers routine correspondence; conducts legal research, file management and case progression.
• Drafts discovery and complex pleadings; drafts motions and subpoenas for attorney review.
• Obtains, compiles and analyzes records for discovery; handles incoming discovery and medical record analysis.
• Prepares experts and witnesses for pre-trial and trial activities; coordinates interviews with clients and witnesses.
• Summarizes depositions and indexes material; drafts jury instructions and subpoenas.
