Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Paralegal Certification preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
  • Proficient in legal research using Westlaw and Practical Law
  • Familiarity with Legal Tracker or other matter management systems is desirable
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as a team player with customer focus

Responsibilities

  • Assist Legal Operations and support processes and procedures development.
  • Organize and track files, manage knowledge repository in SharePoint, and support budget management.
  • Support corporate governance, entity formation, and contract administration.
  • Perform legal research and calendaring of important dates and deadlines.
  • Assist with IP management and compliance tasks.

Purpose

Assist company's legal department in: (1) its Legal Operations and the development and maintenance of processes and procedures; and (2) the many facets of corporate law, including reviewing documents, providing legal research and assistance and updating company and department files.

Legal Operations, including: organizing and tracking files, building/maintaining knowledge repository in SharePoint, developing and championing processes and procedures, and maintaining and managing the budget

Corporate governance and compliance including formation and maintenance of corporations, LLC entities, and Trade Names/DBAs

Contract management/administration support, including abstraction of contracts and leases

Intellectual Property management/administration

Legal research, reviewing documents, and calendaring of important dates and deadlines

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with either a reputable law firm, or as an in-house Paralegal (insurance, banking or other high volume customer facing industry preferred)

Paralegal Certification preferred

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Proficient in SharePoint

Proficient in legal research using Westlaw and Practical Law

Familiarity with Legal Tracker or other matter management system is highly desirable

Ability to maintain confidentiality

A team player with customer focus

Preferred Skills

Exhibit attention to detail and accuracy in composing, typing and proofing materials, planning and organizing to meet deadlines

Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate and present at all levels, both internally and externally

Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively prioritize work well in a fast paced environment

Exhibits critical thinking, problem solving and analytical ability in order to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to various administrative problems
