Austin Allen Company - Professional Recruitment is seeking a Paper & Converting Director to lead operations for the Paper, Coating, and Converting departments. You will drive safety, profitability, and capital improvements while managing large projects and a skilled workforce.

The role requires extensive paper manufacturing leadership, union labor experience, and a track record of delivering operational excellence in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Direct experience working in a unionized labor environment.
• 10+ years in paper manufacturing or equivalent.
• Leadership experience in heavy manufacturing settings such as plants or mills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety performance and regulatory alignment to drive first-quartile metrics.
• Develop and manage budgets, material usage standards, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Lead large-scale capital projects, including equipment installations and mill rebuilds with vendor negotiations.
• Foster labor relations, coach and develop junior leaders, and ensure effective workforce management.
