Job summary

VSO in Reston, VA is seeking a seasoned Palo Alto Networks Firewall Engineer to deploy, manage, and optimize high-end firewalls in a DoD-focused enterprise. You will work with PA-1400/3400/5500/7000 devices via Panorama, manage VM Series environments, and coordinate migrations with security and network teams.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years in network and security solutions.
• 5+ years with BGP, SD-WAN, VXLAN, and routing/switching.
• 3+ years leading security solutions in large environments.
• Hands-on with PA-7000/5500/3400 and VM Series.
• Proficient with Panorama and log collectors.
• Experience with NGFW and GlobalProtect.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Security Operating Platform in a DoD environment.
• Migrate policies to Next-Gen Firewalls and optimize rules.
• Deploy PA-1400/3400/5500/7000 via Panorama M-700.
• Manage VM Series firewalls and VM Flex Credits.
• Test migrations and coordinate production cutovers.
• Guide on code upgrades and signatures development.
• Interact with TAC to resolve cases and issues.
• Understand customer environments and roadmaps.
• Communicate with customers, sales, and engineers.
• Travel as required.
