Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking an Associate Director, Packaging Operations to direct all packaging and filling operations for biological vaccines and pharmaceuticals. The role supports capital/expense planning and leads strategic initiatives to upgrade and automate packaging processes.

The position requires a strong leader with GMP expertise, SAP experience, and a track record of delivering on safety, quality, and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline; accredited institution
• 6+ years manufacturing experience, GMP biologic/pharma preferred
• 4+ years in a leadership role managing people
• Strong SAP/ERP experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with automated production processes and packaging components

Responsibilities

• Supervises packaging/filling operations to meet production planning and forecasting
• Ensures regulatory compliance in Packaging/ Filling department
• Meets safety goals and budget objectives for capital and expenses
• Maintains accurate inventories for unlabeled inventory, packaging components, and WIP
• Supports process improvement initiatives and automated packaging systems
• Drives quality, cost, and schedule adherence for products and processes
• Mentors staff and ensures GMP/SOP training and compliance
• Supports development and succession planning to strengthen bench strength
