Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking a Lead Packaging Maintenance Mechanic for a high-speed food production facility in DuPage County, Illinois. The role requires a strong background in maintaining and repairing packaging lines and related equipment on a multi-line plant floor.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults, perform refurbishments, and support continuous improvement projects with operations and engineering.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed food packaging or manufacturing.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting ability without requiring full electrician credentials.
• Experience maintaining and rebuilding packaging machinery such as baggers, form-fill-seal equipment, and sealers.

Responsibilities

• Keep high-speed packaging and processing equipment running across a large, multi-line plant.
• Rebuild and refurbish machinery to like-new condition during planned and emergency downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults and fix them without waiting for help.
• Handle electrical troubleshooting and repairs on the lines daily.
• Coach less experienced technicians and share knowledge on the floor.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks and log work in the CMMS.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering on improvement projects.
