Job summary

Utz is seeking a Sr. Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development, from ideation through first production, across multiple brands. You will partner with cross-functional teams, source packaging options, and help optimize specs and costs while supporting sustainability goals.

The role requires 5–7 years in consumer-packaged goods, with strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, plus knowledge of diverse packaging formats. Travel to plants may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or related field is required.
• 5–7 years of experience in consumer-packaged goods; food/bev preferred.
• Knowledge of corrugated, PET, paperboard, and flexible films.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging development from ideation to first production.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to commercialize packaging innovations.
• Provide cost estimates for packaging components with procurement.
• Review packaging specs and test results for compliance.
• Support sustainability initiatives and plant visits as needed.
