Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive patient care in trauma, general surgery, burn, and vascular settings. The PA will support inpatient services, educate students and staff, and develop policies for surgical patient management.

The role focuses on trauma resuscitation, critical care planning, and education. Strong collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and ancillary staff is required in a fast-paced tertiary center.

Qualifications

• Graduate from ARC-PA approved PA program.
• California PA license.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• BLS and ACLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six months.
• Minimum one year of surgical PA experience; trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical support in inpatient management, trauma resuscitation, and consultations.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill and injured patients.
• Develop and provide patient education.
• Participate in quality assurance programs.
