UC San Diego Health in San Diego seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of Surgery for trauma, general surgery, and burn care. The NP provides full clinical support in inpatient services and guides education for students and staff.

The NP will work with counselors, social workers, and other staff; develop and implement care policies, and contribute to quality assurance programs. A cover letter is recommended when applying.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• California RN and NP licenses, plus Furnishing License Certification.
• Current Acute Care NP Certification (AGACNP or ACNP).
• BLS and ACLS at time of hire; ART required within six months.
• Minimum one year of NP experience in critical care, acute surgery, or trauma.
• Ability to assess patients and plan surgical care with accuracy.

Responsabilités

• Provide full clinical support for inpatient trauma, general surgery and burn care.
• Develop and implement patient care plans and education.
• Collaborate with counselors, social workers, and clinic staff.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and policy development.
• Write orders and document patient status and progress clearly.
