Job summary

UCSD Medical Centers is seeking a Physician Assistant in the Department of Surgery to provide full clinical support for trauma, general surgery, and burn patients. You will support inpatient management, trauma resuscitation, and consultations, while educating students and collaborating with care teams.

Required ARC-PA approved PA program, California PA license, NCCPA certification, and BLS/ACLS with ART within six months. Prior trauma experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a physician assistant program approved by ARC-PA.
• California PA license is required.
• Current PA Certification from NCCPA.
• BLS and ACLS certifications at hire with plan to obtain ART within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical support in management of inpatients, trauma resuscitation, and consultations.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate health care treatments for critically ill and injured patients.
• Develop and provide patient education.
• Participate in quality assurance programs.
