Sompo is seeking an AVP, Product and Regulatory Counsel to provide legal support to North America Insurance Property and Casualty underwriting teams. You will draft policy forms for new and existing products and advise underwriters and management on legal matters.

The role supports regulatory filings and product provisions, with collaboration across underwriting, claims, risk control, actuarial, legal, marketing and compliance. Location flexible among NJ/NY offices and hybrid options may apply.

Qualificações

• JD required; five or more years of relevant insurance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO/AAIS and/or NCCI products is a plus.
• Outstanding legal writing; writing sample may be requested.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Draft property and casualty policy forms and endorsements.
• Advise underwriters on policy terms, coverage issues and legal matters.
• Assist in negotiating product coverage terms.
• Review NDAs and warranty statements.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, risk control, actuarial, legal, marketing and regulatory teams on product development.
• Provide regulatory and compliance support for products.
• Identify opportunities to improve team processes.
• Perform other duties as determined by management.
