Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Senior P&C Engineer to ensure protection and control systems design and operation for safe transmission and distribution. You will mentor engineers, lead project teams, and support maintenance and restoration efforts.

Requirements include a degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus and at least five years of relevant experience, including relay settings, ASPEN Oneliner modeling, and IEC61850 exposure. This role may require travel and office work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, power systems preferred.
• Five years of related experience required.
• Experience with overcurrent and distance coordination studies using ASPEN Oneliner or equivalent.
• Post-event analysis using relay and digital fault recorder event records.
• Knowledge of transmission and distribution protective relaying principles.
• Ability to work independently or in a team; strong communication skills.
• Experience with protection/control designs using IEC61850 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review proposed changes to ensure compatibility with protection system standards.
• Create new protection and control system designs as required.
• Specify materials for protection and control systems for projects.
• Develop, calculate, and document relay settings and logic for protective relays and switches.
• Perform coordination studies by modeling and analyzing system elements.
• Lead project teams and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Support storm and emergency restoration efforts.
