Job summary

Eversource Energy in Connecticut is seeking a Protection and Control Engineer to design and operate protection and control systems for the transmission and distribution network, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

The role involves setting relays, coordinating studies with ASPEN One-liner, IEC61850 protocols, and supporting storm restoration with cross-functional teams. Travel to operating districts and facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, focus in power systems preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of related Electrical Engineering experience.
• Protection and control experience preferred, including coordination studies and post-event analysis.
• Experience with IEC61850 protocol and relay systems.

Responsibilities

• Review proposed changes to ensure compatibility with protection standards.
• Create protection and control system designs per Eversource standards.
• Specify materials for protection and control systems.
• Develop settings and logic for protective relays and feeders.
• Perform coordination studies using fault simulation software.
• Support storm restoration with cross-functional teams.
