Job summary

SoftBank Group International seeks a senior owner-side civil and structural engineer for Portsmouth Power to lead site development, grading, foundations, structures, and heavy-lift interfaces, ensuring designs are safe, constructible, and aligned with permitting, schedule, and long-term operations.

You will coordinate with Owner Engineer, EPC/EPCM, geotechnical, survey, and specialty consultants; review quantities, reports, and design criteria; drive constructability and lifecycle considerations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering required
• 12+ years of civil/structural engineering experience on power/industrial projects
• Deep knowledge of site development, earthworks, foundations, concrete, steel, drainage, utilities and constructability
• Experience reviewing EPC/EPCM and Owner Engineer deliverables and resolving complex interfaces
• Experience supporting civil/structural procurement, quantity reviews and construction packages
• Ability to translate site-condition issues into cost, schedule, permitting and risk implications
• Strong safety, quality, and change-management mindset

Responsibilities

• Act as owner-side principal civil and structural engineer across site development, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and turnover.
• Review and challenge calculations, reports, specifications, drawings and models from consultants.
• Lead owner technical reviews of grading, foundations, structures, drainage, buildings, and equipment supports.
• Integrate geotechnical findings, hydrology, seismic/wind criteria, and construction sequencing into decisions.
• Support bid evaluations, deviations, and vendor recommendations for civil and site packages.
• Identify scope gaps and interface issues across generation equipment, mechanical, electrical and site infrastructure.
• Drive constructability, modularization, erection, crane access and lifecycle considerations in designs.
• Resolve RFIs, deviations and field conditions without assuming contractor means-and-methods.
• Coordinate with Program Delivery on schedule, quantities and permits reflected in cost/risk reports.
• Coordinate with interfaces across various teams (Owner Engineer, EPC/EPCM, suppliers) to align on site-release criteria and readiness.
