Job summary

PMA is seeking a Senior Project Manager to independently lead large capital improvement programs for our clients. You will oversee planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout while maintaining strong client relationships and guiding governance and PM practices.

Ideal candidates will have 12+ years in construction or infrastructure, proficiency with Primavera P6, and a proven track record across multiple delivery methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, or project management.
• Water/wastewater infrastructure experience strongly preferred; other capital programs considered.
• Proven track record delivering large and complex projects through multiple delivery methods (CMaR, design-build, design-bid-build).
• Experience managing projects across full lifecycle from planning through closeout.
• Experience negotiating and administering contracts and resolving change orders, claims, and other commercial issues.
• Experience in owner’s-representative or client-side project management role preferred.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex projects and make sound decisions with minimal oversight.
• Strong client relationship management skills; trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of project controls, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contract administration.
• Mentor and develop project managers and junior staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Equivalent education/experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage large or multi-phase capital improvement projects on the client's behalf.
• Provide senior-level leadership across planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Own the day-to-day client relationship and primary point of contact for issues and escalations.
• Represent client interests when coordinating with contractors, designers, engineers, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Establish project governance, reporting standards, and PM tools.
• Oversee scopes, budgets, schedules, resources, milestones, and financial performance.
• Review and validate contractor and design schedules, budgets, submittals, and change management.
• Lead resolution of complex project, technical, contractual, and stakeholder issues.
• Guide contract negotiations, change orders, claims, and commercial matters.
• Monitor performance, risks, trends, and metrics; develop recovery strategies.
• Provide senior-level site oversight and QA/QC during construction and closeout.
• Lead project meetings and facilitate cross-team communication.
• Mentor and develop Project Managers and junior staff.
