Job summary

Withum is seeking an Outsourced Accounting Senior Consultant to join the OASyS team. This hybrid role (3 days in office) supports clients in the professional services industry, overseeing AP, payroll, month-end close, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA preferred and/or MBA equivalent.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership and review responsibilities.
• Demonstrated client service experience in outsourced accounting, advisory, public accounting, or consulting.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including presenting financial results to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Clio; strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data validation).
• Experience in professional services industry with understanding of accounting reporting and GAAP; strong internal controls knowledge.
• Involvement in their community and desire to give back.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team; assign work, review deliverables, coach and provide feedback.
• Oversee accounts payable workflows and approve vendor payments with supporting docs.
• Review and approve payroll processing and related filings with client HR/payroll.
• Lead month-end close; review journal entries; ensure reconciliations and GL accuracy.
• Review and approve journal entries and confirm supporting details.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances across cash, AR, prepaid, fixed assets, accruals.
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and analytics; translate results into actionable decisions.
• Partner with client leadership as day-to-day point of contact; communicate status and risks.
• Coordinate external reviews and audits; manage auditor requests.
• Evaluate internal controls; streamline close and reporting; promote best practices.
