Job summary

Withum is seeking an Outsourced Accounting Senior Consultant to join the OASyS team in a hybrid role (3 days in office). You will lead and review client accounting work, oversee AP, payroll, and month-end close, and collaborate with client leadership to drive timely, accurate financials.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership and review responsibilities.
• Demonstrated client service experience with outsourced accounting, advisory, public accounting, or consulting.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to present financial results to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Clio and strong Excel data skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• Experience in the professional services industry and solid understanding of accounting reporting.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, GAAP-based financial statements, reconciliations, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team; assign work, review deliverables, and coach staff.
• Oversee accounts payable workflows and approve vendor payments with documentation.
• Review and approve payroll processing and related filings with client HR/payroll providers.
• Lead the month-end close; review journal entries; ensure timely reconciliations and accurate GL.
• Review and approve proposed journal entries and supporting details.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and analytics; translate results into actions.
• Partner with client leadership as the day-to-day contact; communicate status and risks.
• Coordinate external reviews and annual financial statement audits; manage auditor requests.
• Strengthen internal controls; streamline close and reporting across AP, AR, payroll, GL.
