DaMar Staffing is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder to join our healthcare team in the Brentwood, TN area. This role focuses on accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT coding for diagnoses and procedures, with emphasis on timely reimbursement and quality reporting.

The candidate will work with hospital information systems and EMR/EHR encoders, maintain a 95% quality accuracy rate, and collaborate with providers for documentation clarification to support appropriate billing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of outpatient coding experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT knowledge.
• AHIMA/AAPC credentials required or active.
• Strong understanding of hospital information systems and EMR/encoder.
• Ability to achieve 95% quality accuracy and maintain productivity.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM codes for medical records and diagnoses.
• Abstract data elements for billing, regulatory agencies, and databases.
• Review records for documentation to support facility charges.
• Clarify documentation with providers to ensure proper E/M levels.
• Resolve outpatient claim edits to ensure compliant billing.
• Assist with simple errors in other outpatient visits as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards.
• Participate in regular training to improve patient and customer communications.
