Job summary

CHS Corporate is seeking an Outpatient Coder for our Franklin, TN site to accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient services. This role supports compliant reimbursement and data integrity by reviewing records and applying appropriate codes per guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of outpatient coding experience in a hospital or health system, proficiency with EHR systems such as 3M, Meditech, Epic or Cerner, and a commitment to HIPAA compliance and accuracy.

Qualifications

• ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding proficiency required.
• Experience coding outpatient encounters in acute care settings preferred.
• Knowledge of LCD/NCD and payer-specific guidelines.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and data privacy.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and assigns ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient records.
• Codes outpatient encounters including ED visits, procedures, and ancillary services.
• Applies coding guidelines and payer-specific policies per LCD/NCD.
• Resolves edits/denials and maintains compliance with policies.
• Maintains productivity and accuracy; communicates with CDI and billing teams.
