Job summary

Central Transport LLC is hiring for a supervisor role supporting inbound terminal operations in the Nashville area. You will oversee unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight, while directing up to 30 local drivers and dock personnel to meet production goals.

You will monitor cube/weight loads, enforce safety standards, and mentor team members to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations
• Understanding of the LTL trucking industry
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience preferred in LTL trucking
• Strong leadership including hiring, coaching, training and mentoring employees
• Desire to deliver customer service excellence
• High aptitude for technology
• Ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week on average
• Ability to work in varying shifts including nights and weekends and in any weather
• Degree (associate or bachelor) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound operations for designated terminal dock area
• Manage unloading, forklift traffic and palletized freight sorting/picking
• Supervise up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules
• Use independent judgement to build loads based on labor and freight levels
• Ensure proper loading of carriers by monitoring cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers and dock hands
• Monitor dock production to meet or exceed KPI goals
• Monitor hours and overtime
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Ensure adherence to company operating model
• Support a culture of excellence in product quality for internal and external customers
