Job summary

Boater's World Marine Centers in Islamorada, FL is seeking an experienced Senior Outboard Marine Technician to join the Service Department. You will diagnose and repair high‑level outboard issues across multiple brands, using OEM tools and sea-testing for quality assurance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of marine dealership experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a proven ability to trace problems to root causes with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of professional marine technician experience required.
• Strong hands-on diagnostic and troubleshooting experience with outboard engines.
• Ability to independently diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Experience servicing and repairing major outboard brands (Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda).
• Solid knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems and marine accessories.
• Experience using OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, and service information.
• Capability to perform rigging, installations, and sea-trials when needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and performance concerns on outboard engines.
• Use OEM software, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures to identify root causes.
• Provide repair recommendations, parts needs, and labor estimates with clear documentation.
• Perform water testing and sea trials to verify repairs and ensure reliability.
• Support equipment installations, rigging, and component replacements as required.
• Maintain accurate repair-order notes and communicate findings to service advisors.
