Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a System Development Engineer III to drive Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to millions of Customer Terminals across multiple hardware variants in the field. You will own the systems that ensure safe, reliable, and rapid updates at massive scale.

This role sits at the intersection of distributed systems, embedded software delivery, and fleet management. You will collaborate with firmware, satellite networking, and operations to automate workflows and keep our ground segment

Qualifications

Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
Experience with Linux/Unix
Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Responsibilities

Have OTA update systems, fleet management platforms, or large-scale device management experience.
Know staged/progressive rollout strategies and automated release safety mechanisms.
Build observability and anomaly detection for device fleets.
Demonstrate analytical problem-solving backed by data and metrics.
Show ambition with a push beyond conventional boundaries and willingness to improve.
Able to navigate ambiguity and identify gaps to fill with the right teammates.
Own technical vision and direction with performance metrics to assess system services.
