Job summary

Amazon Leo is building a low Earth orbit satellite network to deliver internet services globally. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to drive Over-The-Air updates across millions of customer terminals, spanning multiple hardware variants and field deployments.

You will work with firmware, satellite networking, and operations teams to automate update pipelines, ensure safety, reliability, and rapid deployment at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Have experience with OTA update systems, fleet management platforms, or large-scale device management (IoT, mobile, embedded, or similar).
• Have experience with staged/progressive rollout strategies and automated release safety mechanisms.
• Have experience building observability and anomaly detection for device fleets.
• Highly analytical: you solve problems with data-backed approaches and drive rational decisions.
• Technically fearless: you push beyond the obvious and strive for innovative solutions.
• Engaged by ambiguity: you identify gaps and fill them to deliver value to customers.
• Invent and simplify: apply first principles thinking to find simple solutions.
