Job summary

Cypress Creek Energy is seeking an OT Security Engineer in Durham, NC, to own the engineering of protective and recovery controls across our OT/ICS environment, including segmentation, hardening, and remote access controls. You will design and implement security tooling and work with a managed provider on integrations and incident handoffs.

The role demands 5+ years in OT/ICS security, knowledge of IEC 62443, and hands-on experience with industrial protocols and secure remote access.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in OT/ICS security or related field.
• Experience with network segmentation and industrial firewalls.
• Familiar with SCADA/PLC/RTU and related protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850).
• Knowledge of IEC 62443 and NIST SP 800-82.
• OT mindset: safety and availability prioritized over confidentiality.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, cybersecurity, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain OT network segmentation and secure IT/OT boundaries.
• Implement OT access controls including MFA and vendor access.
• Assess security impact of OT changes and define test/rollback plans.
• Stand up OT security tooling integrated with managed service provider.
• Lead containment, eradication, and recovery during OT incidents.
• Coordinate with provider on tooling integration and incident handoff.
