Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a senior OT cybersecurity engineer to join the Grid Automation Cybersecurity COE. You will design, implement, and test security solutions on complex utility projects, then codify them into standards, templates, and training for regional teams.

You will own a set of GA cybersecurity solutions, drive automation with PowerShell, and use frontier AI models to speed up documentation and configuration reviews. This role requires 20–40% travel and offers remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years in industrial automation or the energy sector; at least 5 years OT cybersecurity delivery on customer projects.
• Knowledge of IEC 62443, NERC CIP, NIS2, CRA, IEC 62351 and NIST with substations and grid protocols.
• Hands-on skills in at least three of the listed areas (firewalls, OT network monitoring, secure remote access, Active Directory, PKI, SIEM, etc.).
• Proven ability to produce security documentation that customers and auditors accept and travel 20-40%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cybersecurity workstream on Tier 1 projects end to end: requirements review, security architecture, detailed design, build, configuration, FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover.
• Produce the project security deliverables: security plan, zone and conduit model, risk assessment, hardening records, test procedures and reports, and the security handover package.
• Map customer requirements to contract scope early, flag deviations as they arise, and give project managers the technical basis for change orders.
• Act as the technical owner for an assigned set of COE competencies and build the GA execution toolkit (reference architectures, baselines, checklists, scripts, guides).
• Write and maintain PowerShell scripts and modules that automate repeatable execution tasks; build AI-assisted checks and documentation workflows.
