Job summary

GE Vernova’s Advanced Research Center seeks a Lead Cybersecurity Research Engineer to advance OT security for embedded systems and industrial control environments. You will help design, implement, and test advanced cybersecurity solutions from concept to fieldable prototypes, coordinating with GE Vernova’s Gas Power, Renewables, and Grid Solutions segments.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in CS/EE with 1–3 years industry experience
• Bachelor or Master in CS/EE with 3–5 years industry experience
• 3–5 years of embedded systems, firmware, or edge software development
• Current embedded programming in C, C++, Python
• 3+ years experience with cryptographic standards (TLS, X.509) and hardware security (HSM, TPM, ARM Trust Zone, secure boot)

Responsibilities

• Support Cybersecurity technology development as a core contributor on R&D programs.
• Identify and pursue external funding opportunities for advanced OT cybersecurity research.
• Provide technical input and domain expertise for proposals.
• Collaborate with universities, national labs, industrial consortia, and partners on OT security for embedded systems.
• Assist in technology roadmap execution and development of OT cybersecurity technologies from lab to prototypes.
• Define technical requirements and system-level security in embedded/industrial control environments.
• Support maturation of research into GE Vernova product platforms with business teams.
• Contribute to technical papers, patent filings, and open-source engagement.
• Participate in technical reviews, program reviews, and sponsor meetings.
