Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen the OT security posture for its industrial environments in Atlanta, GA. You’ll architect and implement protections for critical systems, using automation, scripting, and continuous monitoring to scale security while preserving safety and uptime.

You will collaborate with Automation and Controls Engineers to harden PLC/HMI/RTU configurations, build verification pipelines, and maintain asset inventories across facility lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 6–8+ years of OT/ICS cybersecurity with at least 3+ years focused on OT security, network defense and scripting/automation.
• Hands-on knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, DCS, SCADA, RTUs from major automation vendors.
• Understanding of the Purdue model, network segmentation and firewalls with hands-on experience.
• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for building security automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain secure OT network architectures aligned with the Purdue model.
• Develop automation workflows using Python, PowerShell, or Ansible for OT configuration drift monitoring.
• Build continuous vulnerability management pipelines by correlating firmware with OT asset inventories.
• Manage OT-specific security tools and support threat detection across industrial protocols.
• Partner with Automation engineers to evaluate PLC/HMI/RTU configurations for security hardening.
• Develop automated verification pipelines to validate patches.
• Maintain OT asset inventories and topology maps across facility lifecycles.
• Participate in incident response, containment and forensic investigations.
