SSE is seeking an experienced OT Cyber Security Lead to guide security for transmission projects. You will set proportionate security requirements, work with engineering and operations teams, and drive secure-by-design practices across substations, network, and SCADA systems.

The role emphasizes risk-based decision making, policy development, and ensuring compliance with CAF and NIS requirements, while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to protect critical infrastructure.

Qualifikationen

• You have: OT cyber security experience is important; however, the right mindset is essential: being curious, accountable, collaborative and willing to learn, with a clear understanding of how OT supports safe and reliable business operations.
• Extensive OT, industrial or critical infrastructure experience, including ICT, SCADA or PLC technologies.
• Understanding of OT networks, system design and cyber security in high-availability or safety-critical environments.
• Experience in security assurance, risk management or technical governance.
• Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills, with confidence to challenge constructively and influence outcomes.

Aufgaben

• Provide cyber security guidance and oversight, working with project teams, service owners, engineers and operational colleagues to embed secure, practical solutions.
• Develop and improve clear, proportionate security standards, guidance and documentation.
• Use risk-based decisions to balance business outcomes with security and resilience.
• Support compliance with cyber security requirements, including the NIS Regulations and NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).
• Contribute to security assurance, testing, commissioning and continuous improvement across Transmission systems and services.
