Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ (with West Point, PA option) seeks a Senior Specialist, Plant Automation, OT Infrastructure, Controls & Industrial Automation to advance pilot plant automation and IT/OT infrastructure in a regulated environment.

The role designs, builds, and supports OT automation solutions across plant architectures. You will partner with scientists, automation engineers, process engineers, and vendors to improve reliability, troubleshoot, and drive continuous

Qualifications

5+ years from upstream manufacturing systems, pilot plant automation, process automation, or manufacturing automation platforms.
4+ years with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI, SCADA, OT cybersecurity, MES, and IT/OT integration.
4+ years knowledge of VMware, DeltaV, PI Historian, and regulated computer system support.
Experience with industrial networking, OT data architecture, and IT/OT project delivery.
Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident management skills.

Responsibilities

Optimize IT/OT infrastructure for plant and process automation, identifying gaps and opportunities.
Build and support OT infrastructure for GMP manufacturing and pilot plants, including secure networks and OT cybersecurity.
Lead scoping, technical requirements, and delivery of automation infrastructure solutions.
Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and vendors to translate needs into requirements.
Contribute to solution architecture for plant automation, OT networks, SCADA, MES, and virtualization.
Provide timely IT support for investigations, diagnostics, and incident resolution.
