Job summary

AbbVie seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to configure and program OT systems for manufacturing processes and facilities control. You will lead small to mid-sized automation projects, provide technical support, and ensure compliance with validation and change management procedures.

The role requires strong expertise in DCS/SCADA, PLC programming, and OSIsoft PI data historians, with GMP/21 CFR11 familiarity.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or engineering with relevant experience; master’s preferred with additional years of experience.
• Experience configuring DCS/SCADA systems and PLC programming in industrial settings.
• Familiarity with validated systems, data historians, and OSIsoft PI is a plus.
• Knowledge of FDA GMP and 21 CFR 11 regulatory expectations is important.

Responsibilities

• Develops complex control configuration or programming to meet design specs.
• Acts as SME for Automation Applications and Process Control systems.
• Provides inputs for manufacturing operations and process improvements.
• Leads OT Systems lifecycle activities including validation documentation.
