Job summary

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Senior Manufacturing Design Engineer to join the DePuy Synthes/Materials team in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, focusing on fixture design and tooling for high-yield production. The role requires advanced CAD skills, GD&T proficiency, and hands‑on experience with Creo or SolidWorks.

You will lead prototype builds, coordinate with electrical and process engineers, and drive improvements to reduce setup time and rework while ensuring compliance with ASME/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in advanced CAD design and drafting.
• Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Design and release production tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and test/assembly stations for safe, high-yield manufacturing.
• Create and maintain fixture BOMs, parts lists, and wiring/cable lists for fixtures.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure fixture interchangeability under production loads.
• Lead prototype builds and pilot trials using 3D printing or CNC machining.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop schematics for test fixtures.
• Support manufacturing and quality teams to verify manufacturability and serviceability of tooling.
