Job summary

Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Synthes Orthopaedics is hiring an Associate Development Engineer for Hip New Product Development based in Warsaw, IN or Leeds, UK. You will design and develop implants and instruments, advancing hip surgery while ensuring manufacturability and transfer to production.

You’ll work with engineers, surgeons and supply chain teams to meet milestones, contributing to a high‑performing, multi‑national development group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of work experience required.
• Engineering design, development and analysis skills.
• Ability to interface with project teams, management, and surgeons.
• Strong project management and communication skills with a track record.
• Ability to communicate concepts to surgeons, customers and teams.
• Prioritization and workload management demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Generate design concepts and prototypes, perform design evaluations, create risk analyses and support verification/validation plans.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing engineering and suppliers to optimize for manufacturability and transfer to production.
• Define development timelines with Project Management and provide status updates.
• Develop knowledge of product lines and musculoskeletal pathologies.
• Work across functions and geographies with strong problem-solving and collaboration.
