Job summary

Parkland Community Health Plan seeks an experienced Senior Registered Nurse – Ortho Trauma Clinician to join the Main Hospital team. The role requires >2 years of trauma/acute care nursing in a high-acuity hospital, with night shifts and weekend coverage.

The RN will coordinate care, manage trauma activations, and contribute to performance improvement initiatives. Candidates must hold a TX RN license, BLS, and ACLS/PALS/ENPC or TNCC/ATCN credentials with expirations verified.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have two years of nursing experience.
• Trauma/Acute care experience preferred for high-acuity settings.
• Current TX RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS/ENPC or TNCC/ATCN as applicable.
• Maintain certifications with expiration dates beyond 30 days from hire.

Responsibilities

• Enhance trauma care for all patients admitted to the Trauma Center.
• Manage care for trauma activations, ensuring plan of care and admission data are accurate.
• Perform daily patient rounds and monitor bed availability and service response times.
• Coordinate care with trauma/neurosurgery/orthopedic teams and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to trauma performance improvement and outreach education.
