G&W Electric Co. is seeking a Project Manager II – Order Management in Illinois to lead complex customer projects, coordinate with sales, operations, and finance, and ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables.

The role emphasizes proactive communication, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment. The position requires a BS in Engineering/Business, 5+ years in a customer-focused PM or related role, and ideally PMP certification or progress toward it.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Business or related field required.
• 5+ years in a customer support or project management related role.
• PMP certification or progress toward certification expected.
• Ability to resolve issues independently.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key customers by managing their complex projects.
• Lead end-to-end project initiatives to completion with milestones, documentation, and proactive communication.
• Develop project plans including timelines, tasks, milestones, and contingency plans including risk mitigation.
• Develop and adhere to a project schedule while tracking progress and identifying at-risk tasks.
• Identify at-risk tasks and mitigate or escalate appropriately.
• Assist and lead continuous improvement initiatives to refine processes and customer experience.
• Assist with onboarding Project Manager I and other team members as necessary.
• Consult with departments to resolve scheduling issues during order life cycle.
• Provide timely and effective communication to internal and external customers.
• Work with Sales to support customer/order activity and maintain customer files.
• Validate orders and manage design changes after PO received.
