Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. is building an orchestration platform to run durable, scalable workflows across product and data teams.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will shape the primitives, services, and developer experience that let Scale author, operate, observe, and safely scale distributed workflows. You will lead architecture, design, and operation of the core platform, working with Temporal, Cadence, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tech to deliver reliable, scalable systems that power Scale's AI

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time software engineering with backend or infrastructure focus.
• Experience building production systems with reliability and scale.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration platforms (Temporal, Cadence, AWS Step Functions) and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and operation of Scale's core orchestration platform.
• Build durable workflow infrastructure using Temporal, Cadence, Kubernetes, and cloud-native systems.
• Define platform primitives and APIs for scheduling, retries, state management, and observability.
• Partner with product, infrastructure, data, and application teams to deliver reusable platform capabilities.
• Improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience of services running critical workflows.
• Set technical standards and best practices for distributed workflow development and incident response.
• Drive cross-functional technical decisions and communicate platform direction clearly.
