Job summary

a.i. solutions is seeking a Mission Planner/Orbital Analyst to support experimental satellite systems at Kirtland AFB, NM. You will handle pre-launch to on-orbit planning, interface with payload customers, and help develop mission documentation and automation plans.

The role requires an active DoD TS clearance with SCI eligibility, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and up to 7 years of space experience. Proficiency in C++, Perl, and Python is expected, with leadership and teamwork skills emphasized.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS clearance with SCI eligibility before start.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 0-7 years of operational space experience or equivalent.
• Familiar with C++, Perl, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Launch, LEO, and On-Orbit mission planning activities.
• Perform space mission and pre-pass planning, scheduling, and coordination for mission success.
• Interface with payload customers to build payload schedules and taskings for operations.
• Develop and maintain mission-specific documentation (procedures, handbooks, support plans, OD, test plans).
• Participate in mission rehearsals and exercises.
• Assist in ground system anomaly characterization and recovery.
• Develop and validate changes to mission operations requirements.
• Evaluate proposed operations concept changes.
• Identify opportunities for system automation.
• Develop/script components of the mission-unique ground system.
• Perform testing activities under a test lead.
• Document and communicate work to peers and customers.
• Provide analysis and evaluation of mission data.
• Recommend improvements, optimization, and maintenance for mission systems.
