Job summary

Transaction Network Services (TNS) is seeking a Senior Database Engineering Lead with deep Oracle and AWS data ecosystem expertise. You will lead a team of database developers, design and optimize Oracle databases and AWS-native data services, and drive migration from on-premises to AWS in a hybrid environment.

The role combines hands-on database work with people leadership to deliver scalable, secure data platforms.

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years of experience with Oracle and other RDBMS technologies.
• Hands-on database development and administration while leading engineering teams.
• Strong experience with AWS data services: RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, and S3.
• Proven success delivering complex database initiatives in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience with AWS DMS and Schema Conversion Tool for migrations.
• Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Unix/Linux scripting and automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of database development engineers and contribute hands-on to complex solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle databases and AWS-native data services.
• Lead data migration and modernization from on-premises to AWS.
• Develop and optimize data models for OLTP and OLAP workloads.
• Implement HA, DR, and backup strategies using RMAN, Data Guard, and AWS Backup.
• Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and security hardening of data platforms.
• Mentor team, ensure coding standards, and resolve complex issues.
• Plan and execute projects aligned with product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Operations teams.
• Monitor data infrastructure using CloudWatch and observability tools.
• Participate in production support, incident response, and RCA.
