Job summary

Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA is seeking an OR Assistant III - Anesthesia Tech to support perioperative services. The role involves handling, cleaning and maintaining perioperative and anesthesia equipment, and assisting nursing staff.

This 24-hour shift with on-call rotations (weeknights, weekends and holidays) requires a high school diploma, one year of clinical hospital experience, and CPR/BLS certification. Vaccination per policy is required or exemption granted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to perioperative settings required.
• Minimum one year related work experience required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or equivalent knowledge and experience required.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist perioperative and anesthesia teams in daily operations.
• Handle, clean, and maintain perioperative, endoscopy and anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Support nursing personnel in patient care within assigned areas.
• Perform ORA duties including on-call as needed.
