Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a dedicated Perioperative Services Assistant to support OR, anesthesia, ASU, OB, Cath Lab and Interventional locations. Responsibilities include handling, cleaning and maintaining perioperative, endoscopy and anesthesia equipment, and assisting nursing staff to deliver patient care.

Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma, with prefered 1 year hospital experience or CNA, current BLS/CPR, and vaccination; compensation ranges from $18.36 to $29.70

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school.
• One-year clinical experience in an accredited hospital with preferred OR experience or CNA.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology as related to the perioperative setting is required.
• A minimum of one year related work experience is required.
• Current BLS/CPR Certification required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or equivalent knowledge and experience required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or be exempt with a signed exemption statement.
• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle, clean and maintain perioperative, endoscopy and anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Assist perioperative and anesthesia team and nursing personnel in patient care.
• Perform ORA duties including on-call as needed or required.
• Complete training and demonstrate competency in endoscope and prostate probe reprocessing.
