Job summary

9 Mothers Corporation seeks a Senior Optomechanical Engineer to own optics subsystems across sensors, cameras, and windows on robotic platforms. You will ensure alignment, sealing, and environmental robustness from concept through production and field support.

You will build and align assemblies, perform thermal and vibration tests, and validate performance against the designers’ prescriptions while driving manufacturability and reliability in harsh field conditions in Texas heat and dust.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in optomechanical engineering with fielded optical assemblies.
• Experience with mounting, alignment, sealing, and thermal considerations for optics.
• Strong understanding of tolerance budgets and image quality impacts.

Responsibilities

• Own the optical subsystems from concept to field support.
• Design mounts (kinematic, semi-kinematic, flexure) and ensure repeatable alignment.
• Run alignment, co-boresighting, and STOP/FEA analyses.
• Plan and execute thermal cycling, vibration, and environmental tests on optics.
• Collaborate with optical designers and suppliers to meet specifications.
