Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Opto-Mechanical & Sensor DFX Engineer to own the end-to-end opto-mechanical and sensor assembly design for TeraWave modules. You will bridge precision optical alignment, sensor integration, mechanical packaging, and volume production readiness, ensuring manufacturability and serviceability at orbital scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in opto-mechanical design, sensor integration, or precision assembly in high-volume environments.
• Experience with precision optical alignment, tight tolerances, and thermal-mechanical considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead opto-mechanical assembly design for optical modules and sensor subsystems.
• Own assembly process development including alignment tooling and integration workflows.
• Manage BOM, vendor coordination, tolerance analysis, and production readiness reviews.
• Drive first-article inspection and manufacturing readiness for ramp.
