Qualifications

• Drive from-scratch mechanical design and architecture for new products, conceptualizing and developing complex components and assemblies entirely from the ground up using SolidWorks.
• Design precision mechanisms, motion control systems, and integrated opto-mechanical architectures requiring tight tolerances and high reliability.
• Collaborate closely with electrical and optical engineering teams to ensure system-level compatibility and performance.
• Lead hands‑on prototype builds, fixture design, test planning, and iterative troubleshooting.
• Evaluate materials, advanced manufacturing methods, and vendor capabilities to optimize performance, cost, and precision.
• Champion best practices in mechanical design, GD&T, and structural/thermal analysis.

Optikos is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take the mechanical lead on new product design and development. In this role, you will champion the creation of complex, high-precision electro-mechanical systems from initial concept through production. You will work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to architect robust, reliable products. This position is ideal for a creative, hands-on mechanical engineer who excels at mechanical design, motion control, and mechatronic integration.

Roles and Responsibilities
