You will translate experimental requirements into robust optical hardware, mentor junior engineers, and drive design-for-manufacturing practices across the development lifecycle.

The role demands hands-on lab proficiency, solid modeling skills, and collaboration with physicists and engineers to advance next-generation neutral-atom quantum computing architectures.

Responsibilities

• Owning opto-mechanical subsystems within an established hardware architecture and identifying technical risks, trade-offs, and long-term scalability constraints.
• Designing, modeling, and validating laser-based opto-mechanical systems with hands-on lab work.
• Collaborating with physicists and cross-disciplinary engineers to translate requirements into robust optical hardware.
• Leading design-for-manufacturing and assembly considerations early in the product lifecycle.
