Job summary

Infleqtion is seeking a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer to lead precision opto-mechanical subsystems for scalable quantum hardware. This senior designer role requires deep technical grip on design, modeling, and lab contributions, working with physicists and multi-disciplinary teams.

You will drive from R&D demonstrations to repeatable hardware, mentoring junior engineers and advancing design-for-manufacture while ensuring performance under environmental conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in optical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Extensive ownership-driven experience designing, modeling, and validating laser-based opto‑mechanical systems with strong hands-on lab track record.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for complex scalable system design and analysis; working knowledge of Zemax for optical layouts and validation.

Responsibilities

• Own opto-mechanical subsystems within an established hardware architecture and address risks and scalability constraints.
• Design and integrate precision components for lasers, optics, vacuum-integrated parts, sensors, and photonic devices.
• Lead collaborations with physicists and engineers across disciplines to move from research to scalable hardware.
