Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector seeks an Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Level 3/4 to join the Vehicle Engineering Directorate in Redondo Beach, CA. You will perform multi-project opto-mechanical tasks across development and manufacturing phases, ensuring design integrity and program success.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years (or advanced degrees with more) and active SCI/TS clearance, plus CAD proficiency in Creo/SolidWorks/NX/CATIA.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years; OR PhD with 1 year of relevant experience.
Active SCI access at time of application or Top-Secret clearance with SCI access within a reasonable period.
Experience with electromechanical, opto-mechanical, or mechanisms design.

Responsibilities

Perform opto-mechanical engineering on projects through all phases of development and manufacturing.
Conduct technical specifications, designs, trade studies, and detail designs; prepare procedures and reports.
Support design reviews and ensure CAD data packages meet internal standards and are traceable.
