Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking an Optics Fabricator to collaborate with Production, Engineering, Planning, and others to produce world‑class precision optics. You will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and contribute to high‑quality, consistent output.

Responsibilities include operating polishing machines, interpreting drawings, testing parts, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining tools to maximize efficiency. A senior candidate with relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent.
• 6+ years of related experience.
• Basic computer skills and literacy.
• Good communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for working collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple polishing and generating machines to process optical materials.
• Read routers and engineering drawings to understand part specs and processes.
• Test optical parts using interferometers, calipers, micrometers, and other test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to achieve passing parts.
• Perform surface quality inspections to ensure parts are free of digs and scratches.
• Maintain machines to keep them running at peak efficiency.
